Naturally to make gambling pay you must have other sources of winners other than just Ormonde-owned horses of which there are currently ten in training in Great Britain and Ireland. These are River Bug, Bumblefly, Calvados, Dodger, 2-year-old by Selkirk (unnamed), Mujalia, Summer Cherry, One in the Eye, Bishops Finger and Evolution Baby.

Experience Counts!
It is in his capacity as a jockey’s agent that Keith has made a great deal of his best contacts. Obtaining rides for his jockeys be they experienced, old hands or up-and-coming apprentices, has made Keith a household name amongst the trainers of Newmarket and Lambourn. Knowing that Keith is involved in the gambling side of racing many of these trainers now trust him to carry out commissions on their horses on their behalf.

As well as having plenty of good contacts in most of the large stables, the most exciting development recently has been our cultivation of top quality insiders in some of the new breed of hotshot new trainers, such as Phil McEntree, John Quinn, Julian Poulton etc. who will provide us with plenty of good-priced winners in the next couple of years.

Geoff “You didn’t leave this one out Keith... you backed it all around the ring”
Keith “Actually, all round the country Geoff”
Geoff “What rates”
Keith “5-1, 9-2, 4-1, 7-2 and all rates down”
Geoff “I wish I’d spoken to you before the race Keith, I would have filled my boots”...

  Cuts back to the studio...
Luke “I wish you had spoken to him before Geoff – we could’ve all filled our boots.”
